Lovin San Fran!

My husband and I took a pre-baby trip to San Francisco to soak up some sun, eat yummy foods, explore the city and sleep in until 9AM without a little 3 year old gal waking us up...heavenly! Our last little bit of freedom before our baby comes in less than 2 months. We were recommended some great places to eat from my friend who is starting up a travel blog. Every place was fantastic and I don't think I've ever enjoyed eating on a trip more! I thought I'd share a few places for anyone thinking of making a trip to San Fran - I highly recommend it! Enjoy...

Pizzeria Delfina
In the Mission:

3611 18th Street(between Guerrero St Oakwood St)
*The best thin crust pizza in the city, and the line outside is proof! A great lunch time or dinner spot where you can safely dine alone at the chef’s counter and be happily entertained by the open kitchen. Get the Margherita pizza with anchovies on the side.

Bi Rite Creamery
*The best ice cream ever!! Make your way to the Mission to partake in an unforgettable yet sustainable experience. They use all natural, organic ingredients from local farms. Try the Honey Lavendar or Salted Caramel flavors.

Anchor and Hope
*An excellent seafood restaurant in a converted mechanic’s warehouse. The painted floors and high ceilings combined with a wonderful menu, make this the quintessential west coast experience. They have the best lunch time tuna melt, a great oyster happy hour and a fabulous dinner time lobster roll. Perfect for a work lunch in SOMA.

Located at the Ferry Building, with its windows toward the water, this is THE place for Vietnamese. The emphasis is on fresh and organic ingredients. If you’re wanting a quick fix, you can also pick up food to-go at their counter in the Ferry Building marketplace. We highly recommend the fried banana with avocado ice-cream for desert.

A16 - This place was our favourite - we actually ate their twice - so yummy!
*A marina favorite that brings a dose of southern Italy.  A small, cozy restaurant that has far too many favorites to recommend just one. It’s perfect for a quiet dinner avec 1 but don’t forget to make a reservation. Do sample the extensive wine list from Italy’s southern regions. Make sure to order the buratta cheese - it's amazing.

We took a drive down the coast to Pebble Beach - beautiful!

  1. We visited SF 2 years ago (wow, can't believe its been that long ago) and also did a road trip down to the Monterrey Bay and Carmel area. It was, hands down, our favorite part of the trip - so gorgeous!
