Lovin My Moccasins!
I've had my eye on a pair of moccasins for a while and got my first pair as a birthday gift. I'm in love. They are comfy, casual and I think pretty stylish. I'm eyeing up an adorable pair of booties for my daughter next. Anyone else lovin the moccasins? Enjoy...

Birthday Bliss!
I think I've mentioned in previous posts, that I'm not much of a birthday person. I don't like celebrating things for myself very much (yes, I have tried to analyze this child hood issue?). Anyway, I had a wonderful birthday yesterday with my family and friends making me feel very special. Sorry for the self indulgent post, but here a few shots I wanted to share. Have a great weekend!

New Painting!
We moved into our house last August (by the way that one year rule to get rid of all unpacked boxes will not apply to us - we need another year I think!?). We have 2 very large framed walls in the house - one was filled with 4 black and white pictures, the other was to be a painting by my very talented mother in law. It felt like a lot of pressure to come up with what kind of painting we would want for this space. It's huge and right near our front door so something we see many times a day and so do guests. We decided on a landscape painting. Not too modern but will stand the test of time. Well, last week she brought it over and we love it! It's beautiful, serene and the colours look amazing with the rest of the house. We're very proud to display this beautiful painting. Enjoy...

She's 3!
My little girl turned 3 this past Sunday! When she was a baby everyone told me to savour the moments because it goes so fast - they were right. We had a garden party at home (though the weather didn't cooperate with us) and she invited some little buddies and family. It was great to have all the people who she adores together.
I had lots of fun decorating for the party. We had flowers everywhere, flower poofs, pinwheels, balloons, yummy snacks and a little vino for the grown-ups! Here's a look at her special day. Enjoy...

The Birthday Girl! |
We went with a yellow and red theme (she gave me the direction for colour!) |
There was food too, but this shot looked prettier... |
Necklaces and goodie bags |
We had a shovel, garden gloves and a little herb pot - my daughter asked where the "goodies" were? AKA - Candy! |
Me and my gal! |
One of her favourite gifts |
The kids kept busy decorating pots and planting their flowers |

She got this dress as a gift and didn't take it off all night! |
Cake Time! |
And we ended the party with 10 kids beating up poor Dora for candy! |

Lovin Mother's Day!
I think Mother's Day may be my new favourite "holiday!" You see, I'm not a big birthday girl as I don't like celebrating things for myself - but, with Mother's Day I'm totally okay with a day of indulgence that represents my time as a mom. I feel like it's an earned day so I don't have the same issues. I had the most wonderful day of breakfast with my family, a nice walk, a heavenly facial and later that day celebrating with my own mom and brother and his wife. My daughter and hubby spoiled me with thoughtful gestures and I'm appreciative of my family, my mom, my mother in law and my third year of being a new mom myself. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and now back to the Monday grind. Here is a pic of my daughter, Isabella, and I yesterday morning. Happy Mother's Day to all my great mom friends out there!

Kinda wish I had somewhere for this...
I first saw this chair featured on Cityline and I have been thinking about it ever since. It's called a nest chair and it's not really a chair, not really a loveseat - I guess it's just a place to nest!? My sister in law is doing a small library area in her front room and I was thinking how cozy something like this would be to snuggle up on with a book. Speaking of books...I'm reading a book right now that I'd also like to share - Water for Elephants. I've only just started but I'm captivated. If any of my book club girls are reading this - you'll be proud that I may finish a book in time for our next meeting. Enjoy...
